The PSR-E363 is an ideal portable keyboard for beginners and hobbyists
Touch sensitive keys, on-board lessons, computer and mobile device connectivity and much more
Yamaha Education Suite (Y.E.S.) allows you to practice using the preset songs (or MIDI files on compatible instruments) at your own pace, one hand at a time, or both together
USB to host connectivity with MIDI and audio transfer means you only need one Cable to connect to your music-making software
It’s a lightweight arranger keyboard; beginners have better options I own the earlier, similar PSR-E343. But if I were buying today, I’d definitely buy the next model up, the PSR-E453. Yamaha has finally upgraded the -E453 (only) with some real onboard effects: Rotary speaker/Leslie, tremolo, auto-pan, and distortion. Plus, that model provides two fun onboard dials, with which you can vary effects rate and depth, as well as other parameters (attack/release, filter EQ, etc.). The -E453 also adds more sequencer voices, more preset storage, and a pitch-bend…
Great Value If you don’t plan on actually playing piano as your end goal, this is the perfect instrument for getting into music, and learning music theory. Piano players will need many more than 61 keys, and likely will go for weighted key action, which this does not have. There are loads of extra options in the settings menu, where you can adjust the tuning, reverb, octaves, and pretty much everything imaginable.I bought it because I began learning saxophone, and needed to learn music theory…
