Best Transparent Compressor on the Market I’ve tried 3 compressors now ranging from inexpensive to very expensive. The MXR Dynacomp, the Wampler Ego, and the SP. Compared to the Wampler Ego there is little difference in sound and compression, but I didn’t like the Ego because there were too many controls and I just don’t see the need for that much compressor control. Don’t lose your high volume tube sound when playing at low volumes by using this compressor I love this pedal. I was told I would lose my playing dynamics and this would cover up my mistakes. Wrong. Maybe some compressors. But not this one. Keep it on low compression and the blend (how much compressed signal is mixed with dry/uncompressed signal) on mid to 3 oclock and you still have all of your dynamics as far as I can tell.
