VOX AMPHONESBASS Active Amplifier Headphones
The VOX am Plug series of palm-sized headphone guitar amplifiers enables musicians to easily plug their am Plug into any guitar, and attach a pair of headphones to achieve high quality guitar sounds anywhere. Now, amPhones make it even easier for you. While the am Plug required the user to provide the headphones, the amPhones are headphones that have the am Plug technology already built in. Just plug in your instrument, and enjoy serious guitar/bass sound and superb comfort. amPhones are created using headphone technology from Audio-Technica, the name you trust for headphones. amPhones can also be used as conventional headphones when the amplifier simulator is switched off. You can connect your guitar/bass to these headphones, or use them for listening to music. amPhones are what you need, whether you’re practicing by yourself in your room, or listening to your portable audio player on the way to the studio. amPhones are a must-have item for any VOX enthusiast. amPhones come in four models: the AC30 faithfully reproduces the sound of the classic VOX AC30 amplifier, the Twin simulates the sound of a famous US-made clean combo amp, the Lead covers lead guitar sounds ranging from UK-made amps to US-made high-gain boutique amps, and the Bass models VOX’s classic AC100 bass amp with a wide-range design to meet the needs of today’s modern electric bass players. Each uses a completely analog design in order to faithfully model the circuit response of the original amp, and will satisfy even the most critical listener.

Well worth the price These arrived several days ago. I have used them with my 4-string Squier Jaguar and 6-string Ibanez. I have flatwounds on both and want as flat and clean a sound a possible. I like the sound from these Vox Amphonebass headphones. It is acceptable down to the low B and a real pleasure above. Well worth the price. And I don’t wake the neighbors. Also, while there is an aux input, regular speakers come through sufficiently to allow transcribing without turning player speaker volume too…
These are a great idea, but they could use a lot of … These are a great idea, but they could use a lot of improvement. They are basically the bass version of the VOX amPlug built into a set of headphones. More convenient than the two-piece combination (and fits in guitar jacks that the amPlug won’t). However, this and the amPlug both produce a very muddy sound. Excessively heavy on the bass frequencies and almost no mid or high frequencies. Just not a very pleasant sound, and it gives me a headache.Still, if you’re a…
TRIED TO LIKE THESE I tried my best to love these headphones, and I admit the concept is great. However, no matter what I did, I could not eliminate the buzz and sudden static noises. I’ve tried 3 different bass guitars (Fender Jazz, Peavey Millenium, and Squier Jaguar) to no avail. I’ve disconnected all electronic devices around me, increased and reduced the gain, volume and tone on both the headphones and my instruments — nothing helped. I’m going to return these, but before I do, would like to know if…
