Bought this Tama Superstar Classic 7-piece maple set and it sounds better than I expected Figured it was time to upgrade from my old entry-level Percussion Plus drumset I got back in 1995. Bought this Tama Superstar Classic 7-piece maple set and it sounds better than I expected. Had to change the batter heads to Remo pinstripes though since I like to have a lot of attack sound. The maple shells give it a nice warm (and loud) sound. Would prefer to have longer legs for the 14″ floor tom as I want it the same level as my snare drum, which sits just above the height of the bass…
