Here’s the kit that started it all for Saga! Our first product, and still a
best-seller! The carefully-shaped Mahogany neck comes perfectly contoured with the Rosewood fingerboard already fretted. The tapered hole for the 5th string peg is drilled, so all you have to do is apply the finish to the neck and assemble all the parts-it’s that easy! The pre-drilled cast-aluminumrim has an integral archtop tone ring for a clear, bell-like tone with plenty of volume. With just basic woodworking skills and the clear, concise directions of our illustrated plans, anyone can build this professional quality banjo in no time at all!

Solid banjo at a fair price I am no expert and am just learning. I have one banjo that is sold on Amazon for about $140.00. The workmanship on it is flawless. Is sounds ok but the neck flexes and changes the sound. I wanted a little better banjo but am not exactly rich. In my wandering I was thinking about buying it part by part, I ran into this one . A LABOR OF LOVE I WANTED TO BUILD A BANJO SO I CHOSE THIS ONE. I WOULD HAVE PREFERRED A WOODEN “POT” BUT THE METAL ONE WOULD HAVE TO DO AS THE OTHERS WERE OUT OF MY PRICE RANGE. THE METAL POT LOOKED GREAT ON THE OUTSIDE BUT THE INSIDE WAS EXTREMELY ROUGH WITH LUMPS & BUMPS OF METAL. FINALLY SPRAYED THE INSIDE FLAT BLACK SO THAT IT WAS LESS NOTICEABLE AFTER TRYING TO SMOOTH THE LUMPS DOWN. THE INSTRUCTIONS WERE VERY HAZY AND APPEARED TO HAVE BEEN WRITTEN IN A HURRY.
