A great idea with some side-effects This is a great idea that suffers from its reliance on the stability of your own hi-hat stand. While that’s ultimately not a fault of Manhasset, it’s something to certainly consider when purchasing.As another reviewer mentioned, the stability of this stand entirely depends on the stability of your own hat stand. Unless you have a solid, double-braced, 3 legged stand then expect movement and wobble in the music stand. The fact that I use an iPad to read charts exacerbates this wobble…
great flexibility When playing (jazz) time on the hi-hat, it’s a very standard thing to click the hi hat stand with the free hand . If you try to do that with this product, the tightened clamp takes away the resonance of the stand and makes for a pretty undesirable sound. Chances are, most drummers do not employ this technique and therefore would be fine with this product. However, if you play jazz, you probably employ this technique and may want to consider this drawback. Other than that, it’s perfectly fine…
