I needed a better way to mike my Collings A-Style mandolin – something that would give me some freedom of movement but also be small, lightweight, and with great acoustic tone. Excellent device. I used it on my mandola and … Excellent device. I used it on my mandola and madocello, and I got a beautiful clean and crisp sound. I jammed with a pianist, a saxophonist, and an electric guitarist, and my instruments could be heard very well. Given that it is an actual microphone (and not a piezzo pickup) and the mandola and mandocello are hollow bodied instruments, I would only recommend to stand/sit at an angle where the microphone and mandola/mandocello would not capture much sound from the other instruments and…
