Korg Volca Modular Synthesizer Bundle with Power Supply and Austin Bazaar Polishing Cloth
A semi-modular analog synthesizer that makes modular synthesis more accessible and understandable than ever before. Creating new sounds that don’t exist in the outside world is an unending dream which has continued since the birth of electronic musical instruments. This dream has evolved and expanded throughout the development of new and unique music production devices. The popularity of modular synthesizers around the world has generated new excitement and interest in the so-called “West Coast style” of synthesis that deviates from traditional synthesis norms. The compact body of this volca synth features eight modules and 50 patch points. While learning the basics of a modular synth, you can use popular features of the volca synthesizer line to control a unique and different flavor of analog sounds.
An analog synth composed of modules
Eight modules: The volca modular is a semi-modular synthesizer consisting of independent analog synth modules, digital effects, and a sequencer. Each of the modules has been carefully selected for its stand-alone completeness. The modules are internally connected so that sound can be produced even before connecting the included pin cables, and the routing is shown by white lines on the panel. Module connections via a pin cable take priority over the internal connections, bypassing them.
SOURCE? This consists of a triangle VCO carrier and a modulator. The complex overtones generated by FM modulation are sent through a wave folder circuit to add additional overtones, producing a distinctive sound. This module is important in determining the basic character of the sound of volca modular.

Great little machine. I am amazed at how good this little unit actually is. I’ve built Roland TR-909 and 808 clones which are also very good but pricey machines, but for less than $175 including shipping I can get nearly the exact sounds I can from the big boys. I now own a Volca Beats, Bass and Digital FM and with very little experience I can make beautiful music in my little home made studio that is beyond my wildest dreams. If the Korgs stand the test of time, then I would say that they are the best little…
Great price point and functionality at the cost of compatibility (Beatstep users, take warning) I want to start off by saying that most of my negative points are not meant to discourage new users. This is absolutely the best polyphonic synth for its price point without a doubt. If you’re new and want to try your hand at analogue synthesis, this device has too much capability for too little money to pass up. This review should be seen as advice to those who already have analogue equipment (specifically midi controllers like the BSP).Let’s start with the pros:1) Great…
