Great synth engine, build quality so-so No doubt one can get great sounds from this synth, and editing on the fly is easy, but Korg didn’t think out the ergonomics very well and there are some other serious shortcomings.The knobs / functions layout is back to front for starters…. People usually play melody with their right hand and you have to stretch your left hand across to the right hand side of the instrument to make major changes. Good sounding synth engine in an unfortunately cheap feeling enclosure. I’ve owned a kingkorg since it first came out – I bought it online, so I didn’t have a chance to touch and feel it before purchasing, but had heard numerous demos. I typically purchase one of each new release for my recording facility, as, especially with new releases, I get a fair amount of requests from clients to try the “latest and greatest.” That said, I have a huge number of synths to compare it to (list below).
