And with the ability to blend in compression and clean signal, you’ll be able to dial in the perfect sound that keeps everything in place. The Whitey Tighty is a FET compressor that has three simple controls: Volume, Compression, and Blend. The Volume control gives you the ability to set your volume at unity gain or slightly boosted to make up for any perceived loss from the compression. The Compression knob controls the amount of compression for everything from a subtle smoothing of your tone to a pleasing squash that’s perfect for country, blues, pop, and rock. Use the Blend knob to dial in the right amount of clean tone along with your compressed signal. This allows you to retain some of the natural feel of your clean tone while giving you the studio-quality compression that brings your sound to the next level. Excellent Clean Boost I stumbled upon JHS Pedals a few months back, and their stuff, I believe to be superior to most others. The Prestige is an excellent clean boost pedal that I use to replace a preamp pedal that was basically serving the same purpose. Despite being significantly less flexible, the Prestige sounds better than the preamp pedal ever did, and I believe ever could. Great Pedal! This is probably my favorite pedal on my board right now. Super feature packed. Great compressor but also a fantastic sounding buffer. I run this first in chain and it sweetens up my tone nicely. Sounds the same as JHS’s Little Black Buffer (which also sounds killer). Being able to switch the buffer on and off with the switch on the side is a great addition being that certain dirt pedals don’t cooperate with a buffer very well.
