JHS Ryan Adams Signature VCR Ultracolor Volume, Chorus & Reverb Guitar Effects Pedal
The first in a collaboration between PaxAM, Ryan Adams, and JHS Pedals, the VCR delivers Adams’s identifiable clean tone with a single stomp. The onboard reverb, chorus, and boost effects are inspired by the tones of The Cure, The Smiths, and a hefty dose of 1980s’ angst. And though those tones are easy to pull out of the VCR, it’s easy to blend all three effects to your individual taste. Basically, the VCR Ryan Adams signature reverb/chorus/boost pedal gives you all the good things about 1980s guitar tone in a single, straightforward stompbox.

But in my opinion, they miss the point of this pedal if that’s their line of thinking. The basic options for using these sounds is a plus to me–it…
I love JHS pedals, and have a Panther Cub v. 1. I REALLY wanted to love this pedal, but found that the delay line could not handle the passive output of my Les Paul hum buckers. This results in a buzzy high end distortion on the delay repeats if you play too hard. Not good at all when playing clean. Also, the active EQ magnifies the buzz, making it unusable. Perhaps the pedal was out of spec or defective (it was brand new in the box from Amazon Prime), as the V1 could handle even…
