JHS Crayon Fuzz Guitar Effects Pedal
The JHS Pedals Color Box is amazing. It’s powerful, it’s versatile, it sounds stunning as a guitar pedal or as a recording preamp, and sometimes…just sometimes…it’s a bit too much for guitarists. That’s why we created the Crayon. This straightforward pedal harnesses the exact same gritty preamp tones of the Color Box and puts them in a smaller stomp with a simplified control layout. Three knobs control the gain, output, and tone of the pedal, while a Hi-Pass switch accesses even more aggressive characters. If you’re one of the musicians who is madly in love with those straight-to-console fuzz tones but don’t need all the extras, the JHS Pedals Crayon was made just for you.

Great piece of gear! Many uses and applications. This is a multi-functional box that can be used in several different ways. My main use case for this pedal will be to simultaneously use the XLR and 1/4 outputs, to go to a board/interface and amp. It is important to note that it is quite easy to get bad sounds out of it. You have to dial it in based on how you’re using it and what you want out of it. At low gain this is a very open and uncompressed sound. As gain is increased it starts to compress and eventually enters into signal destruction…
Took a Gamble. Paid Off. I wanted a pedal that could compete my pedalboard (Iâm a bass player) and I wanted something that could give me some grit or some fuzz, while also allowing a more clean boost. This is exactly what the Colour Box does. With 18v, itâs very versatile. The EQ has very large boosts and cuts, and any sound can be dialed in. The gain stages are very clean, and can easily be manipulated to get that grit I was looking for. It did cost an arm and a leg, but itâs beautiful, everything is excellent…
Worth every penny! Absolutely amazing pedal. You can feel the quality as soon as you get it out of the box and the second you plug it in…. Fuzz heaven! Easy to use, authentic muff tones and quality switches and pots. Looks awesome too. The only issue you might have is trying to decide which muff tone to play! My favorite thing about this pedal is that it sounds great even at low volumes which is where my previous muff pedals always fell short. Worth every penny! If you are considering buying this pedal, do it…
