Took a gamble So I have to say, I took a gamble on this one, mainly because of the price. I mean, a Brian May copy for under $200? Why not? So first I am extremely impressed with the neck and frets. Not a single dead spot, buzz, overhang, nothing. It was a perfect neck. The action was set a little high on the bridge but nothing I couldn’t do myself. The finish was near perfect ( there are some buffing points, but nothing I’m going to complain about ) I did switch out all the chrome pickguard screws for black…
Great Brian May Red Special for cheap I was like you are right now, skeptical. I have played for many years and have owned well over 100 guitars but I have never had a Red Special. I have always been a fan of Brian May’s but couldn’t bring myself to pay $3,000 for his Czech made ones or $800- 900 for his Korean ones as I felt I would only use it for Queen (or Starfleet) jams in my living room. I came across this IYV and am glad I did. I am extremely surprised with the quality in this sub $200 guitar. It looks great, feels great…
