The RS251’s are simply fabulous mallets. First of all, the rattan shafts are not too thick and the balance is perfect. I use the Stevens grip and I actually cut an inch and a quarter off the ends. My rig contains about 8 sets of mallets and these are my favorites. I say this because I can use them as solo vibe (un-miced) and still execute different voicings, countetpoint, and single lines while still getting a sweet and full sound from the vibe keys. Finally, the chord is very durable yet…
