Great for beginners too I am a musician for more than three decades and started recently with playing on melodicas. Despite the oddly hesitant reviews on the Hohner 32B’s sound quality I gave it a try. My first impression is that the sound quality of the 32B does not lack any audibility at all. Compared with Yamaha’s P25F and P37D, playing chords on the 32B works better. Playing chords on Yamahas does not work so well when playing four or even five finger chords. Lemon…Unbearably flat out of the box The quality of the sound is good, but out of the box it is horribly out of tune. Melodica’s are supposed to be a tiny bit sharp (443) but this has at least 5-6 notes that fall more than 10 cents flat (429 & 430). Also, after playing with it for only a day, now some of the notes have hiccups (in the middle of playing a melody suddenly no sound comes from a key as if the reed is stuck, and then the sound scoops up!) which is very distracting, especially when playing faster songs.
