Once you get the edges off these are fine bridges. I spent an entire evening trying to make this thing work. I wanted to change over to nylgut strings. There was no problem with the smaller strings–they go on pretty easily–the problem starts when you try to attach the fourth and third strings. These are just to thick to fit between the posts on the tailpiece. I finally gave up and went back to my old tailpiece–I managed to jury rig the nylgut strings–I’ll just have to see if it keeps on working when I get them up to tension. The tailpiece…
It does the job
This tail piece has great workmanship, looks nice and is also inexpensive. However, the slots in the pins are too shallow to allow use of strings with a bead on the end. I put loops in the strings and put them around the pins to string it. I used this tailpiece on a new banjo ukulele and it works well. I added a picture of this installation to the site.
