very nice instrument for the price, but dealer inspection and setup were lacking We bought this from Amazon. It arrived with 2 flaws. First, the bridge setup ruler was missing from the box. Amazon was no help at getting a replacement, so we called Gold Tone and were able to get one from them. Second problem is that the bridge was uncomfortably high, making the instrument hard to play. We took the instrument to a local music store and they confirmed this problem. They fixed it by sanding down the bridge; a standard fix that they did while we waited for $15. We could have…
Good addition to a collection but not a primary instrument First off, to give this review some context, I consider myself a fairly talented amateur at the ukulele. I’m no Jake Shimobukuro but I’m also a couple levels past the simple 3-chord stuff. Awesome little item. Great sound, esy to play. You do need to set it up, but there are good videos on Youtube. I wish Amazon carried the Little Gem Miners kit…which includes a strap, tuner, strings and an arm rest.My only complaint revolves around the shipping packaging. The banjo box was inside of a cardboard box that had paper packing. But this box was placed inside of ANOTHER larger box, with paper packing. What a waste. The first box would have sufficed…just slap an Amazon…
