Incredible engineering – finally the answer! Got this for a Wolf Dobro had it installed at a local banjo shop. The first one did not work, some kind of wiring issue, so we called Fishman and they sent us another one right out, great customer service. Got it installed and it sounds awesome! Guy at the banjo shop, that has hand made 3 Dobros, kept belly aching why don’t you just get a McIntyre pickup, this is harder to install, yada yada yada.Afterward he was super impressed said it was in a different league from any other…
This purchase was the third of these wonderful pick-ups I now have. The first two I had installed by a very experienced luthier on my two square neck resonator guitars. This one I chose to install myself on the my round neck resonator. The key to installing yourself, beside having experience in resonator set-ups (and I won’t discuss here), is handling the leads VERY carefully and ONLY using the adjustable spider that you can buy through Beard Guitars.
