Remember: it’s a practice amp. For that purpose, it is awesome. Okay, I give it 5 stars because it is a PRACTICE amp. Alright? If what you want is an amp that’s for home practice, or for low-key group practice (i.e., with other people who aren’t cranking their amps up to 11), this is a really solid choice. Is the sound amazing? No, it’s really quite basic. Is it super loud? No, it is in fact just enough to make your bass audible over conversation and acoustic instruments. This isn’t for someone in a garage band who wants to play loud music with friends…
Pretty slim for a Fat Boy Arrived quickly and well protected. It is exactly as described, by others; a practice amp. I am playing a Carvin LB76W Claro Walnut 6 String with passive/active capabilities. On active, with the amp’s volume near 50%, there is some distortion, however that goes away when in passive mode. Honestly, unless you’re deaf, there is little need to turn the volume up any higher anyway. If so, then use the headphone jack and finish off your ear drums!It is a heck of a lot easier on the back…
