Great sounding and versatile dobro for blues slide and finger style bluegrass. I believe the deluxe version of the Hound Dog is worth the extra money for the attractive aesthetics upgrade and Fishman internal pickup. Dobro Hound Dog I absolutely love the sound I get from this instrument. I did have to cut down the slots in the nut and drop the bridge considerably but when I finished, one of the members of my group said it played like “butter – better than some $5000 guitars” he’s had. That, I don’t fault Dobro for as in manufacturing mass production they err on the side of caution and it’s not too hard to modify to play well.The one exception I do have with the product is the pickup.
