Some troubleshooting steps:
1. Make sure you are testing the B9 with its supplied AC Adaptor. Using 3rd party power supplies that are not able to supply at least 100mA at 9VDC could cause erratic behavior such as high frequency oscillations and popping noise when changing modes.
2. If the B9 does not track properly, try plugging your instrument’s output directly into the input of the B9. If tracking problems continue try using the neck pickup of your guitar and make sure your Volume and Tone knobs are set to maximum.

Excellent purchase; works better than you’d have thought possible a few years ago. There are reviews all over the internet and by now I’m sure you’ve seen them. I’ve been very happy with this pedal and what it adds to my rig. I play in a worship band almost every Sunday. We often find a a need for extras sounds and musicians. This pedal allows me to create some new sounds and emulate some traditional Mellotron sounds. The tracking is perfect and the a few of the tones are excellent. The cello, string, flute, and choir sounds are very usable. The various horns and woodwinds…
ONLINE REVIEWS COVERED EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW EXCEPT: I’ve been playing guitar for 40 years (actually, currently unable to due to spinal injury, but. ..)I own this pedal. My first stomp box was a 1970s EHX Small Stone. Powerhouse tank of a pedal. In the 1980s and 1990s my pedal board included a Ratt and an EHX Memory Man.I have a lot of EHX gear. PLEASE NOTE:People are complaining that with the Mel9 you cannot change your pick attack (on the keyboard this would be called velocity). You HAVE to use a Compressor BEFORE…
Who needs a keyboard player when you have this?! EHX does it again! The Key9 is an incredible little pedal for those looking to downsize their band, starting with the keyboard player. The pedal offers a few variations on a Fender Rhodes, one setting for a Wurlitzer, another for Vibes, and a couple of sounds not particularly useful.Put the pedal at the beginning of your chain, but if your guitar does not have high gain pickups, throw a compressor before the Key9.One nice use I found for the Key9 was to pair it up with a…
