Perfect Weight and Length This is the 4th tone bar I have purchased and I think I finally found one that has the right combination of features.My first tone bar was the Shubb GS with a stainless bar and wooden handle. This bar is pretty good, but the curved wooden surface felt awkward when trying to perform slants. My second tone bar was the Dunlop Lap Dawg 926. I loved the feel of this bar, but the length was too short. It just barely fit across all the strings on the neck of my Dobro. I ended up returning…
One better than the lap dawg This steel is ideal. I had a regular Stevens for years and never thought it inadequate, but after looking around, I found there were improvements, plus I had graduated up from a 6 string to an 8 string. I first tried the Lap Dawg, and really liked the feel and shape and weight of it. Then I saw the Long Dawg, and fell in love. I ordered it immediately. It’s all the Lap Dawg is, but slightly longer. It fits just across all 8 strings on my steel, but I move it around anyway to focus on what area…
