D’Addario EXP17 with NY Steel Coated Phosphor Acoustic Guitar Strings, Coated, Medium, 13-56
An ultra-fine layer of EXP Coating is bonded to the phosphor bronze wrap wire which is then wound onto the hex-shaped core wire. The result is a built-in barrier against the corrosion and wear that can quickly sap the life out of your strings and your sound. EXP coated phosphor bronze strings have a natural round wound feel and sound fresh and bright with a “new string tone” that lasts three to four times longer than traditional guitar strings.
Product Features

Includes D’Addario’s exclusive NY Steel, the same high carbon steel found in the NYXL series for unprecedented strength and pitch stability.
Environmentally friendly, corrosion resistant packaging for strings that are always fresh
Great Strings! I have been using Elixir’s for some time now, however, I have been playing more acoustic guitar lately so I have noticed the coating flaking off of the strings in the area where I pick, only after a few sessions. Decided to give these a try and I really like the feel, and of course the sound; bright & warm as advertised. It may be my imagination, but these seem to make the guitar easier to play, (less pressure required/looser feel). Also when I feel the need to bend a little, these seems to do…
Way better than Elixirs When it comes to coated strings, I choose D’Addario for their construction. The metal is coated, THEN wound, unlike competitors, which are wound, then coated. Not many players do enough research to know this. This means the coating won’t flake off. Ever. This type of construction also allows for a little bit of natural squeak you get from non-coated strings. They don’t sound coated.I rehearse/practice 2-3 times a week, perform every week for church, and play solo gigs about once a…
Solid Strings, Great Sound, Long Lasting These are solid strings for acoustic guitar. They have a great sound and I prefer the Phosphor Bronze over the 80/20 strings. I’ve been a fan of D’Addario company for awhile now. I used to play strictly D’Addario strings when I started playing guitar, then I tried every string company I could find including some small companies that let you choose custom sizes and sets where every string is hand wound. Every time, I come back to D’Addario because they make just excellent products. I will…
