Clear and Resonate These strings are exceptionally good. I would not say that they are the brightest strings that I have ever put on my mandolin, but, they are amazingly clear and have deep resonance. I feel like I am getting a much stronger response from the tone woods of my instrument. The articulation of the string cuts through very well. They feel good on the fingers and are easy to note. My new standard for mandolin strings
Great strings for experts OR beginners! These D’Addario are the only mandolin strings I’ve used for many years on my F5 and bought this set for a cheap import mando my son has. The cheap import came with some bad light ga. strings and by changing to this normal gauge and buying/fitting a new ebony bridge, the mandolin sounds 10X better. I am bothered when people review these strings as “not for beginners”. If the mandolin is set up correctly, the playability would not be an issue. Perhaps these folks reviewing it that way…
