While I have the floor here’s my take on coated vs. non-coated: With coated strings you don’t have to change strings as often, and that saves wear and tear on the bridgeplate. If you play or gig regularly, that’s important. As far as the cost, at least for me anyway, it’s a draw. Counterfeit strings sent to me twice in a row Love these strings. They are all I use. I’ve tried many strings over the few years I have been playing, and I have decided that these are the best for me. Be weary however, as the last 2 times I have received a 3 pack of these, they have been counterfeit. All 3 packs of strings had the same players circle number on them. I am a hobbyist acoustic guitar player, primarily interested in fingerpickng, and I try to play for at least an hour a day.The first set of strings I bought were the D’Addario Lights, which were fine.
