Upgrade over the Katana 50 I considered both but if you want an effects loop and to use the GA-FC (foot controller) you need this vs the 50. At the .5 watt setting it works great as a home practice amp. At the 50 or 100 watt setting you can play to a crowd or with a band. The amp is simple to use and many will say it behaves similar to a tube amp but lighter and with more features.
