Boss CS-3 Compressor/Sustainer Pedal

Interesting pedal. Good for funk and jazz but bad for metal. Perhaps im not using this pedal correctly in my pedal chain. It doesnt seem to give much sustain at 12 o clock and when sustain is cranked the attack gets too punchy and ruins it when my distortion is on. Also the volume seems to go up and down because of the compression but it just does it at the wrong time. Thats a bit inconvenient. If a strait up compressor is what you are looking for then I recommend the CP-1X over this one.
