Excellent Versatile Tool All Drummers Need I had seen many drummers and Vic Firth promoting Big Fat Snare Drum so I wanted to check it out myself. A looong search has ended… I have been hungry for a deep snare sound without sounding “flabby” for some time now. I tried various batter heads and tunings on 3 different snare drums; Ludwig, Pearl, and lastly a Yamaha 6.5 x 14. Came to the conclusion that what I wanted was nonexistent.
